Rare Book Collection
Overview
Since 1948, the Rare Book Collection has acquired and preserved rare materials such as first editions, fine bindings, illuminated manuscripts, letters and incunabula. Highlights include the original manuscript of Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer among the Indians by Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain), the Kate Greenaway Collection, and the Laura Ingalls Wilder Collection.

To view items from the Rare Book Collection, make an appointment with the Burton Historical Collection (BHC), located in the Main Library (5201 Woodward Ave).
